2008 Alabama Division Administrative Professional of the Year Event - Congratulations Ellen Mahathey CPS from the Redstone Arsenal Chapter

Welcome to our newest chapter in the Alabama Division - Plaza 205 Mobile Chapter - The new chapter chartering was held on June 6, 2008 in Mobile, Alabama.

March 3, 2008 - The Birmingham News "Out of the (typing) Pool: Administrative Professionals Enjoy Day in the Sun" - article features Division President Joyce Jaet CPS~ALS (Mobile Chapter) and Gina Wood CPS/CAP (Alabama Power Chapter)

October 2007 - Gina Wood CPS/CAP (Alabama Power Chapter) was a finalist for "America's Next Top Administrative Professional". 
 
Gina  was contacted on September 25, 2007 and informed she was a top three finalist for the Adecco award.  On September   30, she flew to Las Vegas Nevada and attended the 15th annual Administrative Professionals Conference (all expenses paid) and receive a $1,000 scholarship for ongoing professional development and education. 
 
Nominations were judged against several key criteria, including: 
 
Making a key contribution to the team
Exhibiting a high level of dedication to both colleagues and clients
Using efficiency and multi-tasking abilities to advance the goals of the company
Displaying strong values and character
Acting as a role model and mentor
 
Gina was nominated by Cindi Horton CPS, a member of the Alabama Power Chapter.

 

July 2007

Gadsden State Community College was selected to receive the IAAP Award for Excellence for companies or organizations with fewer than 1000 employees.  They were recognized at the Awards Banquet at the 2007 International Convention and Education Forum in Tampa, FL.

The Alabama Division is so fortunate to have within our organization the support of employers such as Gadsden State Community College.
