Stephany Wingard, CAP has been a member of IAAP® since August
1997 when it was still PSI®, Professional Secretaries
International. She was a member of the Satellite Chapter until it
disbanded and then became the last signing charter member of the
Huntsville Chapter in 2002. Stephany has held the chapter offices of
President (2008-2009), President-Elect (2007-2008), and Secretary
(2006-2007). She served as the Membership chair (2010-2011) and
Professional Development chair (2009-2010) of the Alabama Division.
IAAP has made a tremendous impact on Stephany's career and professional
growth. She sat for the CPS® exam in May 2007 and received
her Associate of Science Business degree in December 2010, graduating
magna cum laude. IAAP is the perfect venue to obtain continuing
education, improving skills and testing the waters as a public speaker.
She is also a member of the Women In Defense (WID) Tennessee Valley
Chapter of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA), as well
as American Society of Administrative Professionals, Association of
Administrative Professional at CSC, and the Association of Executive and
Administrative Assistants. Stephany is the current treasurer of the
Maple Hill Chapter the National Society of Daughters of the American
Revolution.
Stephany has been employed with CSC for just over three years, where she
now supports the area Vice President/General Manager, as well as the
Deputy, and five Directors. Stephany has been an administrative
professional for 25 years, having started out as a word processor and
file clerk. She has worked in the construction, manufacturing,
education, lodging industries as well as a subcontractor and civil
servant. The most interesting career change involved the two years spent
working in Beijing, China.
Stephany has three grown children, plus their spouses, nine very rapidly
growing grandchildren, an eight-year-old Norfolk Terrier she rescued
from the Animal Shelter and a year-old cat. She is involved with the
Women's Ministry at the Fayetteville Associate Reformed Presbyterian
church and supports several community organizations. Her favorite
pastimes are reading, photography, scrapbooking and traveling.
